We believe that our corporate social responsibility (CSR) is contributing to shape an abundant future for society through our engineering plastic business as mentioned in the Corporate Philosophy. We approach CSR from the dual angles of business activities (including our engineering plastics business, harmony with environment, human resources development, and compliance) and contributions to society.

[Features of FY2023 activities]

Recent years have seen growing demand for human resources capable of driving growth strategies for manufacturers. To support fostering the next generation who have manufacturing mindset, we have provided assistance to the Nagoya University Formula Team. We have also launched a new grade of LCP that significantly meet the challenges in next-generation communication technologies (e.g., 5G and 6G), which support the attainment of a “connected society” in order to create a sustainable society.
In regard to the environment, as actions to address global warming that has been steadily progressing, we have moved forward with our efforts to cut 50 percent of the Daicel Group’s total GHG emissions by 2030 (compared to 2018), which include exploring how to optimize thermal usage at our plants. We have also advanced specific initiatives to make all materials for our engineering plastics sustainable in order to create comprehensive environmental solutions.
In light of human resources development, with the new Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Declaration (the Daicel Group) in mind, we plan to speed up our efforts to create workplaces that enable our diverse employees to play an active role with satisfaction.
Our sustainability website presents the details of these efforts.
