Polyplastics Co., Ltd. (Polyplastics, headquartered in Minato-ku Tokyo, CEO Mr. Toshio Shiwaku) has acquired shares of Daicel-Evonik Ltd. from Daicel Corporation (DAICEL, headquartered in Osaka City, President/CEO Mr. Yoshimi Ogawa) on December 1, 2021.

Daicel-Evonik Ltd. will change its name to Polyplastics-Evonik Corporation on April 1, 2022, Polyplastics being one of the parent company of Daicel-Evonik Ltd. along with this acquisition.

Daicel-Evonik Ltd. was founded in 1970, as a joint venture of Hüls AG (currently Evonik Industries Group), Germany and has been developing and selling high quality and high-performance polymers such as Polyamide 12, PEEK (*1)  and so on.
As a pioneer in engineering plastics, Polyplastics has provided high-value-added functional resins with excellent mechanical strength, heat resistance, chemical resistance, etc., starting with POM, LCP, PPS (*2) all over the world, also providing high technology and fine-tuned technical support from our Technical Solution Centers. 

Polyplastics has acquired based on the phase of the Operation-II, business restructuring and drastic review of existing JVs which is planned in Mid-Term Management Strategy, Accelerate 2025-II of Daicel.
Polyplastics and Polyplastics-Evonik Corporation intend to offer our customers collaborative marketing and technical solution. Furthermore, we expand business and create synergy through the expansion of product portfolio and promote cocreation with Evonik Industries AG.
